DOCUMENT / DONATION TERMS
Donation Terms
Osmium is free and open source software, and it stays that way whether or not you donate. Every feature is available to every user; these terms cover optional donations only.
What a donation is
- A voluntary gift to the developer, given to support continued development.
- Not a purchase, a subscription, a licence fee, or a payment for any service, feature or support.
- It unlocks nothing. No feature, limit, priority or support commitment changes because of a donation, and not donating costs you nothing.
- It creates no customer, support, maintenance or service relationship of any kind.
Addresses and networks
- The only official addresses are the ones published in the app (About → Donate) and on this page. Treat any other address, message or payment request as fraudulent.
- Check the address and the network before sending. On-chain transfers are irreversible: a transfer to a wrong address, a wrong network or a scam address cannot be reversed by the developer or by anyone else.
- Addresses can change. The version shown in the app and on this page is always the current one.
Refunds
- Donations are non-refundable. On-chain transfers cannot be reversed, and the developer cannot return them on your behalf.
Data
- Donating requires no account, no e-mail address, no name and no identity verification. The app collects nothing about donors and cannot see who sent what.
- Blockchain transactions are public and permanent by design. That is a property of those networks and is entirely outside the developer's control.
Taxes and compliance
- You are responsible for any tax or reporting obligation that applies to you, and for complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction.
- The developer may decline or stop accepting donations at any time, including where accepting them would be unlawful or impractical.
Changes
- These terms may be updated as the app changes. The version published here is the version in effect, and the app fetches it on launch.
